Team Performance Profile

Understand the keys to team success

Strong teams do not happen by chance. They are built through trust, clarity, accountability and a shared commitment to results.

The Team Performance Profile Survey is a practical team health check designed to help leaders understand how their team is really working. It gives team members a safe and structured way to reflect on the conditions that support high performance, and the barriers that may be getting in the way. The survey explores six key areas of team effectiveness:

Psychological Safety - How safe people feel to speak up, share ideas, raise concerns and work through conflict constructively.

Dependability - How reliably team members follow through, meet commitments and support each other when priorities change.

Role Structure and Clarity - How clearly people understand their role, responsibilities, decision-making authority and measures of success.

Work Impact - How connected people feel to the purpose, value and broader contribution of their work.

Accountability - How well the team takes ownership, addresses issues respectfully and follows through on shared expectations.

Results Orientation - How clearly the team understands its goals, tracks progress and adapts when something is not working.

A practical starting point for better team performance

The Team Performance Profile is not about blaming individuals or finding faults. It is about helping teams pause, reflect and understand what they need in order to perform well together. With the right insight and conversation, teams can move from assumptions to clarity, from frustration to ownership, and from good intentions to better results.

Why it’s important ?

Teams are the engine room of every organisation. Many teams are busy, committed and hard-working, but that doesn’t always mean they are performing at their best. Small issues around trust, clarity, communication or accountability can quietly affect performance over time.

The Team Performance Profile helps bring these issues to the surface in a constructive way. It gives leaders and teams a clear snapshot of current team health, so they can have better conversations, make informed decisions and focus their energy where it matters most.

The Team Performance Profile can help teams:

  • Identify strengths they can build on.

  • Understand where team effectiveness may be under pressure.

  • Create a shared language for discussing performance.

  • Surface issues that may not come up in day-to-day conversations.

  • Prioritise practical actions to improve team health.

  • Support more open, focused and constructive team development conversations.

It can be used with new teams, established teams, leadership teams, project teams or teams experiencing change, growth or performance challenges.

Turn insights into actions

A strong assessment is just the starting point. Our reports and subsequent presentations, turn results into clear, actionable outcomes that help individuals, teams, and leaders better understand behaviour, improve communication, and drive meaningful development. With data presented in a range of formats and levels, it’s easy to drill down and better understand strengths and areas for development.

Our standard report

Once your team completes the Team Performance Profile Survey, you’ll receive a clear and practical standard report that brings the results together in one easy-to-understand format.

The report gives leaders and teams a snapshot of current team health across the six key areas that influence performance: psychological safety, dependability, role clarity, work impact, accountability and results orientation.

Rather than leaving you with raw data, the standard report helps you see the patterns that matter. It highlights where the team is strong, where performance may be under pressure, and where focused action could make the biggest difference. The report can include:

  • An overall team health snapshot

  • Scores across each of the six performance areas

  • Highest-rated survey items

  • Lowest-rated survey items

  • Key strengths to recognise and build on

  • Development opportunities to explore

  • Themes from open-text responses

  • Suggested focus areas for team discussion and action

Optional team workshop

The optional Team Performance Profile Workshop helps your team turn diagnostic insights into practical action. After completing the survey, the workshop brings the team together to explore the results, understand what they reveal, and identify the behaviours, habits and working practices that are helping or holding back performance.

Facilitated in a safe and constructive way, the session gives participants space to discuss the six key areas of team health: psychological safety, dependability, role clarity, work impact, accountability and results orientation. The focus is not on blame, but on building shared understanding and ownership.

By the end of the workshop, your team will have a clearer view of its strengths, development opportunities and priority areas for improvement. Participants leave with agreed team commitments, individual actions and a practical plan to strengthen trust, clarity, accountability and performance.
